Hey guys! I’m Joe, and I run a 400-member CSA in NW Ohio called Luckett Family Farms.
I’m like many of you — a simple farmer’s wife who wears many hats in our small business, and who had zero formal training in marketing or sales. Every year I felt frustrated as I tried to grow my customer base, even as I had no idea how to do it.
Then one day in 2016, quite by accident, I discovered the world of online marketing. I decided to see if I could adapt the principles to our CSA, and I began to execute a strategy…
It worked. In 2017, our customer retention climbed from 66% to 78% in 3 weeks. Two weeks later, I filled the CSA to within 95% — all before Thanksgiving holiday.
I created TheMarketingFarmer.com to help farmers like you and me learn the marketing fundamentals — so we can stop feeling uncertain, frustrated, guilty, or inadequate when it comes to selling our products.
I believe farmers are looking for help to market their services to a new generation of digital buyers. Learning the art of digital marketing has not only catapulted my farm’s income and brand, but more importantly — it’s given me confidence that I finally know what the hell I’m doing….
so I spend my precious time on the right marketing things.
